Autumn Look Book 2014

We all can't wait for Autumn, after the Summer there is a little part of everyone that wants to dress up warm in knitted jumpers, thick scarves and jump into those chunky boots.  Yet somehow the cold always gets the best of me, resulting in looking and feeling horrible.  I am determined to beat this ever occurring wardrobe, and I have tried to find some amazing outfits and pieces of clothing that will inspire your Autumn wardrobe.

Jumpers

As soon as I think of a typical Autumn wardrobe, I think of thick, chunky, oversized.  Some of these images will need your imagination as no one wears strappy tops and shorts this time of year. But just imagine these jumpers with skinny jeans and boots.

  1. I love this jumper, it's the type of thing your Mom would disapprove of due to all the holes and it not being warm enough. But nobody cares when it looks this good; pair it with a long sleeved top underneath and it's just as warm as a hoody ( without the added feeling of horribleness ).  This jumper is from gypsylovinlight.com

   2.  This jumper is so pretty.  The low back with buttons all the way down make it more interesting than just a piece of material.  It also looks so perfect just to throw on over a vest top.  www.revolveclothing.com

 3.  You can't see much of this one. But you can still see that it's thick knit and oversized size is perfect for the cold days.

 4.  This ones slightly different, it's not something I personally would usually go for.  However, I really love the way it drapes of the shoulders.  Especially with a shirt underneath, you could experiment with different textures. It's perfect to keep you feeling feminine, whilst wearing comfortable, practical clothes.  shop.nordstrom.com

Boots

Everyone loves shoes, but there's something about big, warm boots that everyone loves even more.

 1.  Everyone needs a pair of lace up boots in their wardrobe this Autumn.  They look effortlessly good on anyone and can be worn with jeans , skirts or dresses.  Paired with thick socks, you can get these type of boots in nearly any clothes shop.

 2.  If short boots aren't enough to keep you warm, knee length boots will be perfect.  These usually come with a soft lining for extra warmth. Wellie socks look perfect with boots just like this pair.

 3. Some people might find these strange looking.  With an open back you can imagine them not being practical enough for the Autumn.  Which is why these boots are more of a fashion statement than the other two.  The heel and knee high socks also make it an elegant look to pull off.  I found similar boots like this on ebay .

Jackets

The essential to keeping warm, and usually my downfall in "looking nice". Jackets can make you look frumpy and feel like you have no shape, but choosing the right one can leave all these problems behind.

 1.  Leather jackets will always be a statement garment.  sometimes you can feel overdressed wearing one. last years fad was the fitted leather jacket.  These look great but you can never go wrong with a less fitted and more baggy one to give it a more casual feel.  This one is perfect.

 2.  A smarter approach to the Autumn style. Just because it's cold doesn't mean you can't look smart.  The buttons and straight pattern give it a subtle hint of style. find this on etsy.com

 3.  Lastly, a favourite. you can never go wrong with a Barbour jacket.  the "country life" reputation that they have makes you feel like a real Autumn lover.  Admittedly they don't give you flattering figure, but I think the whole point of them is to be practical.  It's a good job they look just as good baggy and oversized.  For the real deal go here Barbour.

I found an overall outfit that I think sums up the perfect Autumn wardrobe.  A basic baseball Tee-shirt is something that I have to get my hands on.  Ripped, turned up jeans and a rich checked scarf shouts the warmth of a roaring fire.  To top it all off and add a bit of glamour, heeled suede ankle boots and gold jewellery.

Hope your Autumn is stylish and warm!
