Modern Vintage: Grunge

Nowadays there's not really any particular style.  Gradually, fashion has evolved creating new 'species'. First maybe starting off with one, then two, then three and so on.  I think we can all agree that some aspects (or we could call them 'mutations') in this evolution come from the young spirited souls. If we take the 50's for example, we can see the majority of young girls and women wore dresses, circular skirts with petticoats underneath: (an example of one particular style, or species).  The 90's, teenagers might take the 'grunge' route or try out ye'old stone washed jeans. Some might even go for the geometric bomber jackets. (An example of three particular styles, or species in a decade).  Whereas this day in age we can have it any way, which really does express the variety of people and originality of everybody.

If you take nothing away from this analogy of mine, I understand :)  This post is for all you vintage minions, be inspired by the variety of styles that we can all show off and hopefully take away ideas from this post.

Grunge

90's grunge is so influential in todays fashion.  In a way it's just teenagers rebelling...again.  Ripped jeans, band tees and dark colours can tell you so much about a person with one glance at their wardrobe.  With the added effect of looking good ;D

It's clear to see the 'organised mess' created within the grunge style. Each one of these pictures reflects a different take on grunge from floral to tartan.  Have a look at these websites to find similar garments to the ones shown above.
